MIMIC

It learns your voice.

🎧 Headphones strongly recommended. The game uses your microphone; recordings stay in this tab and are deleted when you close it.

How to play

Something is in here with you. It doesn't have a voice of its own, so it records yours.

Every time you talk, it keeps a recording. Later it plays your own words back from the dark to lure you in.
It can hear you. Talking, shouting and sprinting all bring it to you. Watch the mic bar: when it turns red, it heard you.
Every run has 2–3 jobs before you can restore the power: find fuses for the panel, repair generators (hit the skill checks or they bang), smash its tapes (each one erases some of the voices it stole), and sometimes find a keycard for a locked room. Then pull the power lever and get out.
Classes (all free): Brute has 2 flares that stun it. Runner is fast. Medic can save one person from a catch. Tracker has a motion tracker.
If it follows you to your hiding spot, it stops at the door and listens. Keep your heart steady (Space on the beat) and stay silent.
Hide in lockers and wardrobes. It can't see you there, but it can still hear you.
The map is different every time: a research facility or an old house.
With friends (up to 4): voice chat is proximity-based. If a friend goes quiet, they might just be lost. Or it might be using their voice now.

Talk normally: the bar should pass the white line. If background noise passes it, lower the sensitivity.

Read each line out loud. It is already listening.

Voice chat is on. In the lobby everyone hears everyone; in the game, only players near you can. Dead players can only talk to each other.

The power is out. Find 4 fuses, restore power at the fuse box, and get out.

If you hear yourself, it isn't you.
